Battle at Kruger

Oh, and I forgot to post this link in the earlier entry. It's an 8:30 second video, but in my Ecological opinion it's worth every minute of it.

Root for the water buffalo. You won't be disappointed.

And, I am going to add something here after posting the correct link ... if you browse the other videos similar to this one on Youtube, there are all kinds of videos about "tame" wild animals attacking their caregivers and "vicious" animals attacking people on a safari.

Seeing videos of stupid people getting attacked by animals makes me sick ... not because people are getting hurt, but because the wild animals feel like they need to. I hate going to the zoo. As much as I love animals, I can't see a tiger laying in the middle of an enclosure smaller than my parent's backyard. Lions SHOULD NEVER be house pets, or quite frankly in a zoo ... but really, the "wild" is just turning into a zoo anyway because the African government is forced to put fences around all the "preserves" in order to protect the wild animals there from greedy A-holes who want to go kill a cheetah for their pelt. It's awful that we have to have certain wild animals in captivity in order to protect them from going extinct. It's a necessary thing for species preservation in some cases, but what people are doing to the balance of "the wild" is sickening.

There is a video on Youtube of a lion attacking a man on a safari, and then the rest of the pack comes in and basically starts eating him alive. I felt sick ... halfway because the lions were eating this poor schmuck alive, but that should never have happened. This idiot was 10 feet away from a female huntress and got out of his car to take pictures. MORON!! Lions do what God intended them to do ... hunt and kill for their babies. You are smaller, easier to catch and evidently much more stupid than a gazelle, and it's a shame that this moron got out of the car. You don't see gazelles breaking away from the herd to count the whiskers on the lioness that's stalking them.

Maybe I'm being a little harsh, but wild animals do what God built them to do ... you can't expect a jaguar to lay on your feet while you relax and read the paper after a long day at work.

Good thing I have Riley. He kind of looks like a lion.
