Did you know that 20 minutes of exposure PER WEEK on just your arms and face is all the sunlight your body needs to produce adequate amounts of Vitamin D??
I think I O.D.'ed on Vitamin D today. I was loving this weather and stayed outside basically all day. Yes, it was humid, but the breeze kept it bearable. I went running this evening after class and felt like I was choking. I didn't take the dogs because I figure if I was dying in a sportsbra and running shorts, under all that fur they would have sweltered. The heat affects Riley more now that he is getting older, and I HATE saying that he is getting old but he is almost 8 years old, and he isn't quite as spry in the warm weather as he used to be.
I am on a car strike right now. Gas is upwards of $3.00 a gallon, and that is simply uncool. I live close enough to walk to class, even though it's a 20 minute walk, so that is my new goal this week. I will NOT drive the car unless it is to work or some other previous engagement so far away that it would be ridiculous to try and hoof it. I'll even walk to church this Sunday. So there.
There is a 5K pet run in Columbus on May 26th. Sarah, you interested?? It's some kind of benefit and you can run with your dog. I'm totally going up with Riley (and Copper if I still have him by then) and even though our times won't be stellar, it will be fun regardless.
Oh, and my friend Ken took some sweet pictures of Copper the other day. I'll see if I can't figure out how to put them on here in another post.
